2K Games has secured a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to oversee the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the forthcoming third-person action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Leadership Shift Comes After Mixed Feedback
Brinkman assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the exit of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last fall.
On Wednesday, 2K president David Ismailer updated team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had shown the necessity for a clearer game identity.
Ismailer noted that the team is now refining the project with a refreshed approach, aiming to better meet community desires.
A Pattern of Key Acquisitions
The news follows a similar step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to contribute to the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
